The Customer Network & Virtualisation Engineer is responsible for supporting both operations and the customers in utilising Dell’s Connected Configuration offer. This highly skilled, technical  role will involve supporting the application of Configuration Services to the customer’s orders in a  hosted virtualised infrastructure within Dell’s environment and leveraging VPN technologies which integrate this environment with their corporate network to enable high value remote configuration.

The Customer Network & Virtualisation Engineer will support the Connected Configuration offer within Dell or Dell partner facilities. They will support customer virtualised SCCM distribution environments running on the Microsoft HyperV platform which extends the customer virtual network to the manufacturing floor. They will maintain a regular maintenance cycle on the Connected Configuration infrastructure and will setup and implement a routine backup procedure. They will provide support to the operations, both customer and Dell or Dell partner teams in the event of any issues arising during the end to end fulfilment process. The successful candidate will also work to deliver optimisations in the overall fulfilment network, enable new capabilities within existing suppliers and new service deliver models for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Supports operations and customer issues that arise
• Conducts regular maintenance cycles on the Connected Configuration Infrastructure
• Provides operational support for any issue pertaining to the Connected Configuration service
• Ensures all documentation is kept up to date
• Communicates to the relevant stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Utilizing relevant tools, systems, and applications associated to the Connected Configuration solution.
• Defining supporting and/or driving process improvements.

Essential Requirements

• Undergraduate degree with minimum 8 years relevant experience
• Ability to engage simply with customers on deeply technical matters.
• Ability to work with different technologies, HyperV, VLANs, VPN, SonicWALL, SCCM
• Experience in Microsoft SCCM, tasks applications and sequencing
• Knowledge of Security (Physical, process & technology)
• Ability to communicate clearly and present at the senior leadership levels.
• Ability to manage cross functional resources.
• Ability to deliver or validate solution design.
• Ability to act as a change agent to grow the business.
