Mortgage Broker Specialist in Dublin
Job description
The Broker Specialist role is a newly created role based in Bank of Ireland Direct Sales. With reporting responsibilities to the Sales Manager in Direct Sales, the successful candidate will be a key member of the new Bank of Ireland Broker support team. The focus of this role is to provide exceptional service and direction to the Mortgage Broker panel throughout the mortgage end-to-end journey.
As the central point of contact for the Broker channel the role holder will work collaboratively with the wider business, including the Broker Relationship Management team, Underwriting and Mortgage Operations, to ensure the BOI Broker proposition and service is market leading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key contact point for brokers from application submission to mortgage drawdown
- Manage and assess Broker mortgage applications and documents before submitting to underwriting.
- Provide guidance, support and feedback to help Brokers understand BOI`s appetite for the proposal and to ensure quality applications are submitted to underwriting.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the BOI Broker panel that will drive channel growth and market share
- Provide feedback to Broker RM/ Head of Intermediaries on quality of Broker applications and common trends
- Build strong knowledge of the mortgage broker industry and the Irish property market including latest trends, competitor products and pricing.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the Broker Relationship Management Team, Underwriting and Mortgage Operations to ensure the Bank are providing a first class differentiated service to the Broker channel.
- Superior communication skills and the ability to break down the complexity of the mortgage process into simple easy to follow stages
- Maintain highest level of compliance and quality standards by ensuring all procedures and processes are carried out correctly
- Provision of outstanding customer service, ensuring customers` needs are met in a way that consistently delivers excellent customer experiences and outcomes whilst benefiting the business to achieve positive NPS score
- Ability to complete complex personal mortgages for more complex customers such as self-employed, company directors, portfolio investors, multiple properties and self-builds
- Coach, mentor and collaborate with other Advisors to share knowledge and best practice; and deliver on team initiatives
- Support team members on complex cases and deliver to customer expectations as efficiently as possible
Essential Qualifications:
- Educated to minimum Level 5 Leaving Certificate or equivalent
- QFA Qualified
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Self-starter capable of working on own initiative with strong problem solving skills
- Excellent credit knowledge/experience of packaging mortgage applications for presentation to Mortgage Underwriters.
- Good understanding of business accounts e.g. P&L, cash flows etc. and can use these to support discussions with brokers
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationships with internal stakeholders across BOI Group to enable and support good quality customer outcomes.
- Good team player with an enthusiastic, proactive approach to work and accepts responsibility and ownership
Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Expertise in managing relationships with 3rd parties or Brokers
- Third level minimum level 8 qualification
