R41249 Merchandising Consultant (Open)

Title: Merchandising Consultant EMEA Market

The Global Dell Outlet team is the face of Dell, Inc. in the secondary market. It primarily engages in Remarketing of Dell products that have been returned by customers. It is approximately a $600M business globally and deals with all of Dell’s products, from mobility products to Cloud servers and more. This business also supports the P&L of all the business segments in Dell like EUC and ESG.

Role Overview:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Demand Generation/Marketing

  • Position Dell Outlet brand on assigned markets and drive demand generation efforts to move outlet inventory in most profitable way
  • Responsible for demand plan, and media investment strategy in partnership with the agency
  • Direct ownership for delivering online KPIs and attainment to plan and enabling offline sales in partnership with sales leadership
  • Manage optimal marcom spend and drive efficiency KPIs
  • Deep understanding of demand gen vehicles and tactics both paid and organic (Search, Affiliates, Email, Print, Digital etc..) and funnel management

Merchandising

  • Responsible for managing 4Ps (price, product, promotion, placement) strategy for assigned markets across all sales channels; develop optimal pricing and inventory allocation to better enable P&L
  • Work to expand outlet opportunities across LOBs and segments leveraging best practices across regions
  • New product introduction: Use several key metrics (new side price, competitor, ageing, inventory and financial targets) to determine optimal pricing and manage pricing through product life cycle
  • Aged pricing management: Create a strategy based around the FIFO inventory policy
  • Pricing Reseller lots to manage consistent Omni-channel pricing 

Business Planning:

  • Drive quarterly and annual planning and forecasting efforts for assigned market; deliver  quarterly forecast and in-quarter outlook in partnership with sales and finance teams
  • Partner with analytics, finance, sales, fulfillment and reporting stakeholders to consolidate business update/scorecard decks and provide weekly readouts on online and demand performance
  • Manage review cadences and interlocks as needed; and ensure there is process BMS (business management system) in place

Analysis:

  • Create and analyze competitive pricing models: Dell.com vs Dell Outlet, Dell.com promotions, external market analysis as needed to support assigned markets
  • Monitor overall business performance, and identify opportunities across regions to drive P&L (units, revenue, ,margin, recovery, inventory and aging targets, channel allocation) as well as demand generation
  • Partner with analyst, regional sales leads, online technology, sales, finance and other key stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities to support business P&L

Education:

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing; MBA preferred; experience in driving demand generation, campaign management with focus in digital marketing and e-commerce.
  • Prior agency side/client side experience required (at least one side)
  • Knowledgeable in the technology/PC industry for the UK, Ireland markets

Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5 years of marketing/sales experience with focus driving 4Ps (price, product, place, promotion)
  • Proven track record of delivering results and effectively working in highly collaborative and matrix organizations
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to tailor communication based on audience (including executive level)
  • Strong project management/stakeholder management experience
  • Experienced effectively dealing with ambiguity
