Senior MI Analyst in Dublin

Job description

The Business MI team sits within the Business Support area of Customer Operations and is responsible for the design, development and preparation of management reports for all levels of management within the Customer Operations area and other functions including Legal, Compliance, Sales and the Board of Directors.

The vacancy is for an experienced MI/BI analyst with knowledge of a number of technologies. The role will act as a technical lead within the MI team and will require mentoring team members. Due to rapid technology adoption within the business the team require additional technical experience to keep pace with business demands.

The role involves extracting data from numerous IT reporting systems, collating and preparing daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports, and distributing to the business users. The role will also involve the design, development and testing of new MI reports as requested.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist or lead the design, development and testing of MI products
  • Work within the Business unit using a variety of technologies to include Oracle databases, Oracle Apex, Webfocus,, SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS), MS Excel, Tableau and VBA
  • Document all work carried out
  • Identify and recommend best practices on ETL and reporting
  • Liaise with Business teams to establish, track and monitor business requirements. Communicate effectively with business customers, line manager and peers
  • Support, mentor and guide others within the MI/ BI team
  • Support existing and help develop new end-user applications.
  • Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider teams` objectives

Essential Qualifications

A relevant third level or similar qualificationin Computer Science, Economics or Mathematics

Essential Skills & Experience

  • High level of proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL and VBA
  • Experience in one or more of the following technologies; Oracle databases, Oracle Apex, Webfocus,, SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS) and MS Excel
  • Strong experience with data warehousing and ETL tools
  • Ability to understand business requirements and develop reporting solutions
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to present the findings to business users
  • Keen attention to detail and strong sense of ownership and accountability for work
  • Motivated to work closely with other business users of varying levels of seniority and experience
  • Must be a motivated self-starter and have the ability to work with little or no supervision

Desirable

Post-graduate or work experience in the Analytics tools, such as R or Python
