CST - .Net & API Developer
Background
The Customer Science Team (CST) within Bank of Irelands Retail Division is responsible for the delivery of Analytics, Campaign Execution and Marketing. These capabilities are underpinned by a broad technology platform, supported by CST`s Infrastructure team.
The team are continuously expanding their capabilities and therefore require the continuous evolution of the technology platform to support.
The Infrastructure team within CST are responsible for:
- Managing the underlying technical infrastructure
- Expanding the datasets to support analytics and campaign execution
- Delivering technical solutions to enhance customer journeysThe team has identified a need to recruit an experienced .Net & API developer to help build out the Integration with our supplier Qualtrics and to support the multiple NPS (Net Promoter Score) Journeys that will run through their platform. The successful candidate will help drive and deliver new solutions that support the different programs supported within CST. The successful candidate will be required to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code / Integrate data storage solutions / ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications / help maintain code quality, organisation, and automatization.The business in this instance may be internal to CST or external within the Retail Division.
Role Specification
The role will be based in Baggot Plaza, Baggot Street and will report into the Head of Infrastructure, CST. The role and responsibilities of the individual will include:
- Writing complex .Net based solutions
- Designing and delivering solutions around API Integrations
- Documenting as-is and to-be scenarios
- Develop solution proposals with team members
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex integration & ETL problems
- Issues analysis, diagnosis and resolution
- Performing preventative maintenance activities
- Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation
- Coding in adherence to the BOI and industry standards
- Conducting developer code reviews
- Provision of mentoring and skills transfer to staff as and when required

Technical skills
- Very Strong knowledge of .NET/MVC development
- Highly skilled at front-end engineering with extensive development experience in .NET, ASP.NET/Web Development, REST Framework, Web Services Development, Windows Services, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, various JavaScript libraries and micro-frameworks (such as JQuery etc.), XML and XHTML
- Strong knowledge of Web Standards and Technologies (AJAX, CSS, WS-Security etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server & SSIS
- Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server TSQL programming
- Technical background in Database Technologies with high Database interrogation ability
- Strong ability in of object-oriented programming / design skills and coding experience in C#
- High technical aptitude and desire to learn new technical concepts quickly
- Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable application
- Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
- Web-based technologies, knowledge of Cloud Based Data solutions such as Hadoop and NoSQL databases an advantage
- Knowledge of advanced data analytics, and text mining models and physical data persistence technologies an advantage
Knowledge & Experience:
- Degree in one of Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Information Systems
- Able to present educational sessions to a technical audience
- Understanding of key BI trends
- Experience of developing & executing test scripts
- Experience in Tableau an advantage
- Experience in Financial Services an advantage
- Experience in project management an advantage
