Description of the business unit

The Bank of Ireland Enterprise & Innovation Team is responsible for the support and delivery of programmes and events that enable business growth in the communities we live and work in. With a particular focus on helping business to start and scale we look to develop our customers an colleagues. By enabling these communities, we also enhance our research and development agenda. Working across Third Level Research and Development and Fintech incubation programmes the team is also responsible for supporting the development of new customer propositions for Bank of Ireland.

Purpose of the role

Fully support the Bank of Ireland Enterprise town initiatives across the Leinster region and partner with distribution channels to deliver enterprise programmers and awards programmes. Strong understanding of the Bank of Ireland Enterprise and Innovation programmes and an ability to implement projects and plans for Enterprise programmes on a National basis. Strong understanding and relationship management with our colleagues in Distribution Channels

With a particular focus on supporting and working from the Gorey HatchLab and the newly launched Kilkenny workbench this role will require flexibility on location. Wexford/ Wicklow/ Kilkenny located is ideal for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the face of BOI brand within start Up communities in local region
  • Fully Implement and lead Bank of Ireland support of startups and engage with Enterprise team on planning and Enterprise week programme.
  • Startup events management- full interaction with LEO/ enterprise Ireland and start Ups within the region.
  • Startup proposition development - develop a plan for startup package and engage Business Banking to rive out a strong credible package for startups in each region
  • Drive out a plan to focus on region as start-up hubs and support regional initiatives such as workbenches or innovation district. With the appropriate resources in place.
  • Leverage co-working spaces in each region
  • Run credible BOI events for start ups including hackathon, startup weekend, boot camps etc. Be the start-up ambassador for Bank of Ireland at these events.
  • Work with innovation function on equity due diligence and start up engagement for Bank fintech development

Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 8 degree

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Credible brand with Enterprise and Start-ups in Ireland
  • Strong understanding of VC/ investor model
  • Strong knowledge of start-up supports and requirements
  • Ability to run incubation space and mentor start-ups credibly
  • Good knowledge of Finctech and VC approach to fintech
