With our VMware Sales Academy (VSA), VMware is actively investing in the future of its Pre-sales organisation.

The VSA is a multi-disciplinary training program that prepares new university graduates for a career in VMware. As an Academy graduate, you are at the front line, driving positive change for our customers and within our own organisation - with the long-term goal of becoming future a VMware leader.

In this Technical Track of the VSA we focus on developing the future stars of our Technical Services organisation.

The Systems Engineering Team:

As a member of the VMware Systems Engineering team you will help customers to transform their businesses with industry-leading VMware solutions. This team is involved in all technical aspects of customer engagement:

  • The initial introduction of new technology concepts and ideas to our customers
  • Presenting and demonstrating transformative VMware technologies
  • Helping customer’s to design solutions that meet their biggest business challenges.

Through close collaboration with sales and professional services, a Systems Engineer builds long term customer relationships, ensuring success in their adoption of VMware Solutions.

Academy Role:

The VMware Sales Academy opens up a wide spectrum of learning opportunities for you:

  • Mentoring, coaching and sponsorship for career development.
  • Effective communications training to ensure excellent customer and partner interactions.
  • Working with partners and customers to solve their problems, providing real-world experience.
  • Commercial and technical presentation training to build communication skills.
  • Hands-on training in market leading technology that is highly respected in the IT industry.
  • Practical career development with an emphasis on experience based “learning by doing”.

After successfully completing your training and assessments, you will progress to a Systems Engineer role, where you will actively contribute to success of the business, working closely with your European colleagues.

Academy Structure:

We are building a team of special graduates to create the next generation of Systems Engineers in VMware. Graduates will initially be based at our offices in Cork, Ireland for 18 – 36 months, during which you will first undergo the structured training program detailed above and then join the Cork based presales team who work with customers throughout Europe.

After this time we expect graduates to relocate back to their home countries for roles in the Systems Engineering field teams, at the forefront of VMware’s Technical Sales Organisation.

Graduate Team Requirements:
  • A persistent, self-starter with a track record of success in your academic career to date.
  • Eagerness to always be learning, with a passion for technology.
  • A great teammate who works with integrity to succeed in a high-energy, dynamic environment.
  • Enthusiastic communication manner, excellent listening, interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required - Computer Science, MIS/BIS, Engineering or Science preferred.
  • IT experience or software development abilities beneficial
  • Fluency in German and English essential.
  • An openness to relocating for a role in your home country or further afield
