Bank of Ireland are delighted to be hiring a Senior Business Analyst to join our Group Change division!

There are a number of large scale transformation programmes under way in this area currently and our team is expanding to cater for the needs of these programmes. We also ensure that the knowledge gained on these projects is retained within Bank of Ireland.

Group Change is responsible for end-to-end delivery of change across Bank of Ireland's services. This function works closely with Bank of Ireland collaborators to shape and deliver change and enables the Bank to evolve its delivery capability to suit best how it serves Bank of Ireland customers.

    What is the opportunity?

    As a Senior Business Analyst in Bank of Ireland, your contribution will be key to any project. You must work with the business to define requirements and to facilitate the design of business and technology solutions that best support the achievement of customer goals. The Business Analyst will have the opportunity to liaise with technical and test teams to ensure the final design will meet the business' needs.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a multi-vendor change delivery team running large and complex programmes across both legacy and new estates. Projects often involve significant complexities including regulatory requirements, complex legacy infrastructure, multiple business units, IT security considerations and critical service introduction activity.

    Key Accountabilities
    • Work alongside senior business partners, in a pre-project capacity, to produce a high-level view of business need to facilitate the preparation of the Do-Ability assessment / Case
    • Conduct research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business area and detail expected impacts of any business or technology change on the existing systems, operations, organisation, operating model and end-to-end processes
    • Support the budgeting, scoping, planning and shaping of the solution, working alongside the business, Group Change and Group IT.
    • Deliver detailed process, organisation, information and operating model design
    • Engage with the business area to elicit, capture, prioritise and manage business requirements
    • Produce the Business Requirements Definition documentation and/or Project Definition Document and any other relevant documentation
    • Communicate the requirements to different partners and act as translator between Group IT and the business to ensure the cohesive alignment of all parties
    • Responsible for obtaining business signoff of the functional requirements and working with the Solution Architect, Technical Designer and Development team, providing feedback to the technical requirements definition and low level technical design where required
    • Trace and monitor the functional requirements during all delivery stages from development and unit testing to detailed UAT
    • Support the Solution Architect / Technical Designer in eliciting non-functional requirements from the business.
    • Design and deliver user and training manuals and facilitate the training of business users in any new/updated solutions or business processes
    • Contribute to post project evaluations and where mandated, perform a post-implementation benefits analysis
    • Maintain & monitor standards, controls, processes and solutions, to minimise business and IT risk
    • Ensure full compliance with all Group, Legal and Regulatory requirements and standards
    • Live and support Group culture, values and behaviours
    • Positive and proactive participation within the team and active collaboration with colleagues across Group Change, Group IT and Group as appropriate
    Who are You

    Essential Skills / Experience

    • 10+ years experience in a similar role in a Financial Services environment
    • Data Analysis
    • Process Mapping
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visio
    • Good analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Innovative thinker and agile attitude, able to influence
    • People management
    • Basic financial analysis skills i.e. can understand and assist in preparation of a cost benefit proposition or a case
    • Basic knowledge of IT systems and capabilities
