This is an exciting opportunity to get first-hand exposure to a whole range of Dell business functions.  The successful candidate will be encouraged to reach out and interact with teams within areas of particular interest to themselves and time may be allocated for learning or initiatives outside of the core team. Coupled with this, the Dell Internship Program allows you to engage with the other interns on site, providing an opportunity to network in a fun way.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on initiatives encompassing several projects that have an organization-wide impact
• Willing to dig into data - discover data sources, get access to them, import them and make them “model-ready”
• Ability and passion to learn new techniques to stay on the cutting edge
• Perform hands-on data analysis and modelling with huge data sets.
• Work side-by-side with product managers, software engineers, and data engineers in creating data science products
• In collaboration with others, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings
• Work closely with program managers in meeting their data needs and understanding the data requirements
• Willingness to learn new tools/languages including VBA, Power BI, R

Required Skills

• Strong database knowledge and expertise in SQL
• Knowledge of machine learning, information retrieval, data mining, statistics, NLP or related field
• Familiarity with Agile practices
• Familiarity with big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig) and NoSQL (MongoDB, ElasticSearch, HBase)

Desirable Requirements

• Technical expertise regarding database design development
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
• Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
