When you’re working in the fast-moving world of technology, product availability is critical – which makes the availability of raw materials for production critical too. Our Material Planning team provides a controlled flow of materials to meet production requirements. We produce detailed schedules, adapting them if necessary to meet backlogs or material shortages, as well as material requirement lists and production plans that balance the demand and supply position of platforms and commodities to optimize product availability and cost. We’re experts at resolving problems with inventory, production schedules or material shortages and recommending procedures to avoid future problems.

This role is part of Global operations planning in EMEA and will be responsible for ensuring alignment on the unit forecast for a specific Business Unit/segment across the Dell product portfolio. Collaboration with COC, Sales & Marketing, Logistics, and Finance and within the Sales Segment team is critical to the success of this role. Using a combination of general product knowledge and excellent data manipulation skills, the general theme of this role is to plan specific products from their lowest level of configuration within a certain Sales Segment and deliver this within a strict planning calendar. 


Key Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be responsible for Segment demand planning, product/platform forecasting and ownership of the bottoms up SSP process.
  • Ownership of the Sales Segment Plan for a specific business segment in EMEA Exercise influence driving Sales Organizations to Plan What They Sell & Sell What They Plan.
  • Provide the projected weekly booking volume in units
  • Drive a collaborative approach to CSB S&OP / CEE CSB Planning process / Vostro system planning by partnering with Global Operations, Sales, Marketing and Finance
  • Take a Leadership role on the CFG Complexity reduction program
  • Drive initiatives through our planning processes that support our core objectives that improve our end to end S&OP processes
  • Take a position in EMEA as the Commodity lock Leader Drive accurate & concise
  • Look ahead for our Fulfilment business Define & implement strategies that optimize the balance between Demand, Supply and Operational effectiveness incorporating understanding of product life cycle management, forecasting analytics and market intelligence
  • Provide interface between Regional and Global Planning Teams supporting global product strategy execution

Essential Requirements

  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of planning, data analysis and data modelling.
  • The person should have solid analytical skills to resolve ad-hoc issues and adjust to the dynamic requirements of our customer and supplier base.
  • High level of proficiency is required in spreadsheet and database analysis tools, specifically MS Excel, Hyperion & PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be a team player, have the ability to be flexible, be able to develop in the role and develop relationships across the business.
  • Degree and/or MBA in any discipline (Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field).
  • Confident operating and influencing at various levels of the organization including executive level
  • Excellent product and technical knowledge
