Infrastructure Specialist

The Infrastructure Operations Team role is to "Enable the Service" through driving our partners in providing the Bank with the Technology required to run the business, securing the Customers and Banks data, improving stability and remaining current in order to provide a premier service.

The opportunity:

The infrastructure Specialist will plan, direct and coordinate the efforts of Bank and vendor technical teams to manage the successful delivery and maintenance of the bank`s VDI estate.

Operational Services in the live environment.

To fulfil this role, there is a requirement to have strong experience in SIAM with managing multi-vendors in depth. This is to give assurances that services are being delivered effectively in order to safeguard the business and improve the stability and delivery of this core service.

In addition to the ongoing operational responsibilities the holder of this role must also seek to plan effectively and optimize live operations to maximise quality and minimise risk. These responsibilities will require extensive stakeholder and vendor management skills to effectively influence others as well as drive change within the holder`s direct area of responsibility.

Location: This role is based in the IT Centre, Cabinteely, D18

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage the VDI estate through daily operational activities
  • Ensure strong Governance with vendor service delivery team and key customer stakeholders
  • Effectively escalating issues where necessary to Infrastructure Operations / Technology Services leadership to ensure that quality standards are delivered
  • Acting as a technical SME on VDI Infrastructure for the Bank and sharing that expertise as required within the Infrastructure Operations Team.
  • Driving continual improvement across both Bank and vendor teams to ensure ongoing optimisation of performance of services
  • Maintain & monitor standards, controls, processes and solutions, to minimise business and IT risk
  • Drive through identified Risks to closure including reporting of progress against each Risk assigned within your area of responsibility
  • Ensure full compliance with all Group, Legal and Regulatory requirements and standards
  • Full involvement during Internal / External Audit cycle that are carried out periodically relating to Infrastructure
  • Support remediation of Audit Actions working closely with Internal teams as required

Essential Requirements:

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of VDI as a service
  • Ideally strong knowledge of the current VDI estate and the transformation activities currently underway
  • Strong understanding of working in a multi-vendor managed service environment
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build productive working relationships with others.

  • Open attitude to change

Education:

  • Leaving certificate - minimum of 5 passes (grade D or above) at Ordinary Level, which must includeEnglish and Maths, or equivalent or superseding qualification

Desirable Requirements:

  • 3rd level degree in a relevant discipline
