In a multi-outsourced environment, Vendor Management is a critical function to the organisations.

The scope of the function will manage 22 vendors representing >40% of BOI spend

All major IT and Services are delivered (Data centres, Telco, Application services, project and programme delivery, Testing...).

The well-known Blue chip vendors are critical providers to BOI

The opportunity:

The IT Demand & Vendor manager owns the end to end RFS (Request for Service) process for strategic IT Suppliers;

  • Working with key internal stakeholders (Finance, Procurement & Architect teams) to optimise value (best technical solutions, resource provisions and commercial outcomes) from the RFS process
  • Building strong relationships and developing a partnering approach with strategic Tier-1 IT Suppliers to BOI Group
  • Overseeing a robust governance framework across the process lifecycle
  • Facilitating & driving Multi-party (internal and external) oversight & decision making via interactions & engagements for more complex, high-value service provisions which are processed through RFS
  • Working closely with individual Vendor Managers and the Contract & Risk team to ensure contractual consistency and appropriate risk management of all approved RFS`
  • Provide meaningful & empirical Management Information on the process on a per Vendor Basis to inform management decisions on Vendor performance & commercial offering
  • Driving a culture of CSI (Continuous Service Improvement) across all facets of the process and amongst team members and the strategic suppliers

Location: This role is based in Dublin (City Centre and Cabinteely, D18)

Essential Requirements:

Skills & Experience:

Relationship Management:

  • Communication to all external and internal stakeholders at various level
  • Influencing strategic decisions based on fact and figures
  • Working together with Finance, Risks and the technical teams
  • Build and maintain relationships to win support

Achieve Results

  • Manage the Vendor Governance in a timely manner, prioritise various agendas and goals
  • Analyse various service performance data and present them in a coherent, strategic and standard manner
  • Develop improvement plans in partnership with the vendors and in more general solve problems

Business acumen and management of Change

  • Using market/technical knowledge to improve the Vendor governance and vendor performance
  • Understand the Vendor`s goals and priorities to pre-empt escalation and manage key outcomes for BOI and our customers
  • Challenge the status/quo internally and to our vendors processes/delivery and manage change

Education:

  • Leaving certificate - minimum of 5 passes (grade D or above) at Ordinary Level, which must includeEnglish and Maths, or equivalent or superseding qualification

Desirable Requirements:

  • 3rd level degree in a relevant discipline
  • Prince 2 or PMI qualification
